OPEN CALL:PhD applications in Critical Urbanism and Spatial Praxis at Transart Institute
Transart Institute is specifically seeking researchers / creative practitioners that can contribute to our constellations of transdisciplinary research in Critical Urbanism & Spatial Praxis: Experimental, transdisciplinary explorations of geography, planning, space and place. Subspecialisms include: morphology of the built environment, spatial anthropology, spatial justice, spatial practices, architecture, urban space and cultures, and walking as an art practice.
Transart Institute for Creative Research has been at the forefront of transdisciplinary, international creative research programmes since 2004. The Institute offers postgraduate studies generating space for experimentation and thinking in any form with endless resources for sharing and connecting. We champion self-directed, curious, flexible and socially-engaged creative researchers working independently or collectively.
Participate in international Nexus Events, retreats and weekend online intensives hybrid sessions, while working independently with dedicated advisors and peer groups and earn a PhD degree. Leave the program with an international community of colleagues, collaborators and friends, knowing you are always welcome back.
We offer a unique, transdisciplinary atmosphere uniting all creative fields under one nomadic roof. Where traditional programs divide disciplines, our approach generates the cross-pollination of ideas, creating fresh work and expanding the definitions of research and the creative process.
