ISLAND ART GUIDES: Spetses, Curated by Pouc Anastasiou

I was not born in Spetses, nor do I have any roots there…

But I loved and still love this island since the day I was born.

Always in the back seat of the car, behind Billy and Effie.

I waited after a 4-hour journey back then, with the endless bends of the Didimo mountains, to shout:“Spetses! Spetses!”and to spend my whole summer there…

Spetses is unique, magical, and has countless ideas, places, traditions and more to offer you

So, when dreamideamachine ART VIEW asked me to share Spetses with you and show you the island through my own eyes and experiences, I was thrilled.

Countless memories, many secret spots, and the blessing of still spending my summers there with my own family…

Let us dive together into the waters of Agios Nikolaos beach, as depicted in his own unique style  by Nikos Mantas—a self-taught painter from Spetses who left behind countless works on the island that gained value unfortunately after his death.

Beyond taking dips in the sea, we will stroll together through beautiful shops, restaurants, distinctive homes &  hotels; and with every step we take along the island’s pebble-paved streets, you will discover the uniqueness, creativity, history, and all the other secrets Spetses holds.

Good Summer!
