OPEN CALL: Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein seeks curator
Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein is an open space for engaging with people and art. As a museum of modern and contemporary art, it operates in exchange with a network of regional and international partners.
To strengthen our dedicated team, we seek a Curator (m/f/d, full-time) to start on January 1, 2026 or by arrangement.
In this position you will work closely with the Director and the entire museum team. You will be central to developing and researching exhibitions, publications and events and independently responsible for individual projects, from conception to implementation. You will actively contribute your curatorial expertise to cooperative work processes, also with regard to further evolving the collection in the area of contemporary art.
Tasks
–Independent development and implementation of exhibition projects (monographic and thematic)
–Scientific research, development and presentation of the collection
–Collaboration on editorial matters and content of publications (exhibition catalogues, essays, contributions)
–International cooperation with artists, institutions and other partners
–Conception and implementation of exhibition-related supporting programmes
–Presentation and communication of the programme (guided tours, texts)
–Project management and budget control in close coordination with the Director and team
–Advisory member of the Acquisition Committee
Your profile
–University degree, preferably in the history of art or cultural studies
–Several years of curatorial experience, ideally in a museum context
–Sound knowledge of contemporary art and the current curatorial discourse
–Experience with handling collections and public education
–Team-leading experience or leadership skills for curatorial projects and exhibitions
–High level of autonomy, flexibility, structured working
–Strong communication skills, confident manner and ability to think and act as a team
–Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English; other languages an advantage
–Willingness to move to the area
