OPEN CALL: Autumn 2026 doctoral student positions at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design
Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design is announcing four doctoral student positions for entry in autumn 2026. Practice in Visual, Applied and Spatial Arts comprises 240 credits and leads to a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Artistic Practice in Visual, Applied and Spatial Arts. The studies are based upon artistic grounds and the foundation of artistic practice established in Konstfack’s main fields of study: fine art, craft, design and visual communication. Konstfack’s specialised material workshops, exhibition spaces, and library, constitute a unique environment, creating the conditions to unite the practices of creating and producing.
The positions have the following profiles:
–Glass
–Textile
–Interior transformations
–Artistic and literary writing, and curatorial practice

Konstfack is Sweden’s largest university for arts, crafts and design. Since 1844, we have educated a diverse range of professionals within these fields as well as art and sloyd teachers. We conduct both artistic and scientific education/research and currently have about 1000 students and 200 employees. The students are enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and teacher training programmes, and in freestanding courses.
