OPEN CALL: Photojournalism Workshop in Oman

Awarded with Unesco Honor (2003), LIFE Magazine’s Best Pictures (2011) and PX3 Gold Medal (2014), Greek photojournalist Maro Kouri is organizing a 9-day photojournalism workshop in Muscat and other places in Oman with the kind support of the Photographic Society of Oman in January 23-31, 2018. “My aim is to share with you the tools and the methodology I have gained from my 25 years of experience, photoshooting and writing texts on my missions all over the world, mainly in the East and Africa”.

The main objectives of teaching are:

  1. natural light and its exploitation in photography,
  2. the composition, the organization and arrangement of all the elements of the photograph in a single set
  3. the information that each photo gives
  4. selecting photos
  5. storytelling, linking images to a narrative story

Equipment: a digital camera with a lens of the participants choice, a notebook and a laptop. Software: Adobe Bridge + Photoshop or Lightroom.

The price for the seminar is 300 EUR + VAT if you book until 25 November 2017 and 400 EUR + VAT if you book after November 25, 2017. Tickets, accommodation and other expenses will be managed by everyone. We are currently looking to find the best rates for accommodation and transportation for the whole group.
