Mr. Luca Curci you are the founder of It’s LIQUID Group, which was founded in 2001, you would like to let us know what was your vision when you created this platform?
My vision was to create a platform, meeting’s place for art lovers such as architects, designers, artists, collectors, art critics, curators, dealers, and other personalities of the international art, architecture and design world.
How many of the objectives have been achieved and how many are in the implementation phase?
The main goals were to create in our website the section architecture, fashion and events and we have achieved them. During the years the platform has been developing in terms of popularity, and the result of this was the birth of Contests and other projects that went in the same direction of It’s LIQUID growing.
While someone would think that a platform like yours that is active in Venice, has big advantage because of the Venice Biennals of Art and Architecture, knowing many years Venice and her artistic scene which is very small and its artistic scene which is very small the remaining period, which gaps you are anticipating to cover?
We don’t have any relationship with Venice Biennale, in fact during the year we use to organize exhibitions regularly in Venice and in other places around the world.
We note that in the exhibitions that are organized by It’s LIQUID Group is encapsulated and Architecture, which is not usual. How do you develop this combination? Do you consider that architecture is the principle of art?
We considered architecture at the same level of the other disciplines. For us every arts has the same importance and we try to spread this vision through our activity of events’ organization, including in our exhibitions every form of art, like performance, video, installation project, architecture and so on…
How arose the project “Oxygen – Fragmented Cities+Intetities” that will be on presentation at Jorge Jurado Gallery in Bogotá on 19/11/16?
Our project arises from the deepening of contemporary’s issues encountered in psychology, psychoanalysis, literature. Moreover it has its roots in scientific and technological development, including also obscure matters like esotericism and and alchemy.
Your next project is “Venice International Experimental Art Festival|Out Of Borders” that will be on presentation at Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi in Venice, can you tell us about this?
VENICE INTERNATIONAL EXPERIMENTAL ART FESTIVAL|OUT OF BORDERS aims to discover the way in which people and artists break the rules of everyday life and exceed the psychic and materical borders, creating the starting point for the building of possible futures. Passing the borders open new scenarios increasing the people’s awareness of our world. We invite artists, architects, photographers and video makers to share projects and art works that can illustrate their ideas of borders and the vision of passing them.
How challenging at the same time interesting is for someone to organize project-exhibitions in cities like Bogotá or Venice, which are very different from each other, they have different cultural traditions and history and certainly architecture, like the space of a Gallery in Bogotá and a Palazzo in Venice?
The ambition of it’s LIQUID Group in the field of events’ organization is to be nomad, in a constant research of new routes, where it’s possible to meet new cultures without borders. Our method is to use new technologies to globalize the language of art, to connect artists working in every part of the world.
