SOCIAL ART: Visual Tribute to Woman in Municipal Market of Hydra Island
A trilogy of exhibitions was inaugurated on Friday August 7, 2022 in the Municipal Market of Hydra. The exhibitions are a great visual tribute to women, their role and their contribution, first the exhibition “Woman over the years” through the eyes of the children of the Children’s Painting Workshop of the Municipality of Hydra with Professor Ms. Annalina Fotopoulou. The exhibition “Weaving the Future V” which creates a dialogue between contemporary women Greek visual artists, that aims to unite women from the past to the future, with the participation of 25 artists, with new and older works, in full dialogue with the space, the place and the history of the island, which are closely related to this tribute organized by the Public Benefit of Hydra Municipality (K.E.D.Y.) on women, and the solo exhibition by Panagiotis Rappas entitled “The cats of Panagiotis Rappas are coming back in Hydra”, inspired by women of the ancient Greek history some of them known, but mostly unknown, as a tribute to women. The exhibitions “Weaving the Future V” and “The cats of Panagiotis Rappas are coming back in Hydra”, are curated by Efi Michalarou (Art Critic and Independent Curator).
All three exhibitions were held with the support of K.E.D.Y.
