MIRAGES LVII

Liste-Logo-printAfter an extremely difficult period that humanity has gone through and continues to go due to the COV 19 Pandemic, an optimistic message is coming from the art world with Museums, Institutions and Galleries opening this month with new exhibitions, renewed, in compliance with the rules on containment and management of the epidemiological emergency. Showing us, again, the realistic side of art, since it has been replaced for a long time by the World Wide Web with exhibitions, interviews, discussions and podcasts that herald the rise of a new and very interesting era, that changes a lot is changing aside from art and its people.

This year’s LISTE Art Fair of which we are Media Partners on a Regular Basis will have online and physical presence. The current artistic voices in international discourse, presented primarily by young galleries, not only reflect our pre-sent but also help create it. It is therefore all the more important to guarantee the galleries and their artists the best possible presentation, both through a physical presence at the fair and through digital formats. Thus, in conjunction with the physical fair in Basel(20-26/9/2021) that 81 galleries from 33 countries showing 106 artists, the digital edition Liste Showtime Online (15-30/9/2021), will take place for the second time this year. Furthermore, Liste Expedition Online will launch in December 2021 as a research forum and artist index that will be freely and permanently available to all. Also, a completely new exhibition space will be created with the Sculpture Piazza, located at the centre of the circular fair architecture. Based on the idea of a public square, 11 large-scale sculptures will define this space and invite visitors to dis-cover, meet and linger.

On the other hand, Art Paris Art Fair 2021, that we are Media Partners, after being the first art fair in the world to open its doors in  September 2020 after lockdown restrictions ended, Art Paris will also be the first art fair to take up residence in the Grand Palais  Éphémère on the Champ-de-Mars. Designed by reknown architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, this spectacular te-porary structure which is situated in front of the École Militaire and close to the Eiffel Tower, will host events scheduled at the Grand Palais until the building reopens for the Olympic Games in 2024. This forthcoming edition will bring together 140 galleries from over twenty countries, displaying art spanning post-war to the contemporary period. Whilst Art Paris is a place for discovery, its distinctive feature is a special emphasis on the  European scene combined with the exploration of new horizons of international creative hubs in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and  Latin America.

Finally, do not forget the artists and the architects whose names are interwoven with this month, at the column “Traces”, the artists: John Cage, Dennis Oppenheim, Christian Boltanski, Sol Le Witt, Pierre Huyghe, Lucas Samaras, Carl Andre, Matt Mullican, Peter Halley, Mark Rothko, Ilya Kabakov, and the Architects: Fumihiko Maki, Tadao Ando, Renzo Piano.

Good Month!
