MIRAGES LXIX

000

December! The month of Reviews and introspection, a year that we, the younger ones, hadn’t ever experienced again, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. A year that started to teach us a lot and it seems we have to learn even more, through our personal journeys each, just like the drawing by the Japanese Architect Junya Ishigami.

Nevertheless, the exhibitions in the Museums and Galleries of Europe from November 28, slowly started to reopen their doors, while in the USA the exhibitions are open mainly by scheduled appointments. Perhaps the most interesting events that take place in the art field during this difficult period are the discussions and exchange of ideas at the online Art Fairs, and the artworks that are showcased through them. I do not think that the online events will replace reality but it is the best way to keep our relationship with art and its people alive right now (!)

In this context our team during this month will retrieve interviews, published in our magazine in its 7 years of existence, and we will read them again together, while at the same time we make new ones that will be published within this month.

Also, do not forget the time-honored Review of the year, where we will meet all the people and artworks that played an important role during the first quarantine so that the second one to become even more creative and interesting (!)

Finally, do not forget the artists and the architects whose names are interwoven with this month, at the column “Traces”, the artists: Günther Förg, Bruce Nauman, Edward Joseph Ruscha, Chen Zhen, Antoni Tàpies, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Joseph Cornel, On Kawara and Louise Bourgeois , and the Architects: Lina Bo Bardi και Oscar Neimayer.
