June of 2017 is full of art evens, since the 57th Biennale di Venezia continues,  Documenta is re-opening in Kassel, the 14th edition of Documenta, entitled “Learning From Athens”, is being shared by Kassel and in Athens from April. The 2017 Skulptur Projekte Münster differs from previous editions of the Skulptur Projekte in that it is giving more scope to performative approaches. Of course like every year during June, the most important and remarkable Art Fairs for Contemporary Art are opening their gates in Basel, Switzerland.

Art Basel that participate older and most recognized galleries, but the most important in our opinion is LISTE Art Fair, because for 22 years its focus is to introduce new galleries representing young, emerging artists to an established art scene.  The intentionally low number of galleries and the strict selection policy of the jury (composed of museum professionals) contribute to a feeling of vitality and dynamism at the Fair.

For our magazine is a great honor to be Online Media Partners on a Regular basis with LISTE Art Fair.

It is really a very creative relationship, and as you know is unfolding in various columns of our magazine and will continue, the most important of them is the Column WORDS/FAKE WORDS which is a comment and intersection in the global political and social developments, this month the column starts on June 4, with two very important people in the art world, Peter Bläuer(Director of LISTE Art Fair) and Denys Zacharopoulos  (Greek  Art Historian & Theorist, Artistic Director of the City Pinakotheque of Athens), and continues during the month with other art people.

At LISTE Art Fair 2017, widely acclaimed Performance Project will take place for the 13th time, curated by Eva Birkenstock, titled “Rehearsing Intra-Activity”, presenting the works of artists, dancers and choreographers that are engaged in an expanded understanding of the concept of choreography. The Helvetia Art Prize is awarded to a graduate of a Swiss college or university majoring visual and media art. This year’s prize, which includes a monetary award of CHF 15,000 and a solo presentation at LISTE, goes to Andriu Deplazes.

Each year LISTE provides a Swiss institution dedicated to emerging art the opportunity to present itself. The exhibition space Kaskadendondensator and the House of Electronic Arts, both of Basel, also appear annually as special guests at the Fair.

Good Month (!)
