Works by Spyros Vasiliou entitled “The Poet of the Daily Life” from all the periods of his work will be exhibited at Radisson BLU PARK HOTEL. Vasiliou was a representative of the generation of 30s, his main themes were the daily life in the urban space, the snapshots from the home and the road, and the feasts, commenting on the human vanity that was characteristic of Baroque Dutch painters. Vkhutemas (Higher Art and Technical Studios), often referred to as the “Russian Bauhaus”, was a legendary art school of Modernism in the 20s established by a decree from Vladimir Lenin with the intentions to prepare master artists of the highest qualifications for industry, builders, and managers for professional-technical education. This is the first exhibition in Germany to show an important sampling mainly focused on architecture of the work of Vkhutemas.
