PRESENTATION:Along the Road

For “Along the Road”, Galleri Magnus Karlsson has invited a selected group of the gallery’s artists to present one new work each. Rather than being organized around a predetermined theme, the exhibition is shaped by the individuality of each artistic practice. Any shared concerns, affinities, or unexpected connections emerge organically through the encounter between the works.

Bringing together artists from different generations and diverse artistic trajectories, the exhibition “Along the Road”, reflects a shared commitment to painting as a vital and evolving medium. While each artist approaches the medium from a distinct perspective, they are united by an ongoing engagement with the history of painting and a continuous dialogue with the present. Their works demonstrate how painterly traditions can be reinterpreted, challenged, and expanded through contemporary experience.

The exhibition offers a snapshot of a particular moment in each artist’s practice. The newly created works reveal where each artist stands today, while also suggesting possible directions for future exploration. As with any exhibition of new works, unforeseen relationships emerge—subtle echoes, contrasts, and moments of productive tension enrich the conversation across the gallery.

By presenting a single significant painting by each artist and allowing each work the space to be experienced on its own terms, the exhibition encourages both close engagement with individual practices and an awareness of the dynamic exchanges that develop between them. Together, these works trace a series of parallel journeys, inviting viewers to reflect on the many paths painting continues to take.
